Solidago gigantea is a hardy perennial that grows in pastures, meadows, and along mountainsides. Goldenrod herb is often employed in infusions and can also be used in liquid extracts. Goldenrod can act ask a diuretic and may help to pass mild kidney stones. Goldenrod is often used as an internal and external remedy for wounds and sores, with an astringent action that staunches bleeding from any source, including heavy menstruation. Herbalists have used it for bladder and kidney infections, allergies, sore throats, colds, flus, candidiasis, impaired digestion and diarrhea, and fever.
